EMPOWERING WOMEN
ONE HOUSE AT A TIME
ABOUT WOMEN EMPOWERED THROUGH LABORS OF LOVE
The W.E.L.L. Organization’s mission is to honor and celebrate women and children survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and human trafficking by renovating, redecorating and redesigning their new homes free from abuse.

Denese Lopez is the founder and executive director of W.E.L.L. Organization. Denese was raised by a single mother and grew up in Pico Rivera, California. Denese became a mother at 16 years old and struggled and fought to make ends meet and further her education. Denese is a wife, mother and grandmother. She is a retired police officer from the state of California.
EMPOWERING VICTIMS
One of the goals of our organization is to show women who have survived abuse that they are no longer powerless and a victim; they are a survivor. Moving from victim mindset to survivor takes time, healing and understanding. Every woman that volunteers from our organization plays an important and powerful role in healing and empowering our newest survivor. Helping our survivors remove and replace material possessions and memories of past abuse is introducing a new start they never knew they deserved. No memory from the past can hold them back. Most of our women whom we have provided our service for, decide to come with us as a volunteer to pay it forward in the next home makeover.
A FRESH START
Our organization provides survivors with any and all household furnishings and/or renovation needed in their homes. Everything they need to restore their home. All the work to the home is done by women, for women. Renewing and redecorating their homes from floor to ceiling is what we do. Once a woman realizes she deserves better, letting go is the best decision she will ever make. Our desire is to hear each woman say, “Today I close the door to the past and open the door to the future. I will take a deep breath and step on through to start a new chapter in my life.”
